Context: Patients with adrenal insufficiency (AI) receive glucocorticoid replacement therapy, which tries to imitate physiological adrenal secretion. However, the first glucocorticoid dose is usually given after waking in the morning resulting in a 35 h delay compared to physiological secretion.
